Day 365 - Happy new year!

Happy new year, everyone! Glitzy, glam and completely silly, these Kate Spade disco sequined heels with red patent spikes are helping to warm a fabulous new studio, accompanied by the fragrance of the year, Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle, very appropriate for the sultry conditions in Melbourne tonight. The studio-to-be belongs to a friend and former neighbour, the talented potter Jane Sawyer, so watch her space...Slowclay. Day 364 - City Kittie

 

Kittie in Chinatown, Melbourne, today browsing won ton menus after her sojourn at the coast, wearing a classic pair of Manolos that make any outing special. Even passengers on the number 86 tram were stealing glances at them! They are paired with a splash or two of 28 La Pausa by Chanel.

Day 363 - The sound of one foot clapping

 

Aubergine satin sandals by Jimmy Choo with divine buckles on the vamps and diamante-encrusted buckles on the ankle straps pictured this evening at An Nam Vietnamese restaurant on Brunswick Street, paired with Bulgari's Eau Parfumee Extreme.

Day 362 - Beach

Pictured against bathing boxes at Rye Beach this morning are these beautiful gold and navy fabric Vera Wang sandals with gold leather trim. We've seen them before, but they really are worth another look. They are paired with Jean Patou's Vacances, a floral musk fragrance released in 1936 (and reissued in the 1980s), which still smells just like holidays should.

Day 361 - Rubber ducky

Black suede Kate Spade sandals pictured today with a favourite rubber ducky in hot pink and purple, accompanied by Ananas Fizz by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 360 - Boxing Day

Boxing Day, with a pair of Bottega Veneta orange and metallic gold and bronze kitten-heeled sandals pictured this evening with Christian Dior's Pure Poison.

Day 359 - Bubbles

Christmas shoes! Giuseppe Zanotti red satin and ostrich amazing shoes with gold heels and bejewelled ankle-straps are pictured here with a blast or three of Nuit de Noel by Caron. I've included two shots to get in the detail, and aren't the bubbles fantastic?

Day 358 - Parliament Gardens

Kittie wearing her favourite vintage Chanel spectator Mary Janes today in Parliament Gardens, posed with the statues of Sir Douglas and Lady Nicholls, and worn with Chanel's Gardenia.

Day 357 - (Another) evening out

Black satin Manolo Blahnik peeptoes pictured this evening nestled with terracotta elephants before a pre-Christmas dinner with friends at Sosta, accompanied by Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle. 

Day 356 - Cocktails

Sublime and classic Manolo Blahnik silver Sederaby heels with diamante buckles are pictured this evening at a cocktail function in Melbourne's leafy Toorak. Readers will recall these were the famous 'stolen shoes' from Sex and the City. They are being watched by one of the host's ancestresses, in a little cloud of - most fittingly - Jean Patou Cocktail, a 1930s fragrance reissued in the 1980s.

Day 355 - Another

Another lychee martini, pictured with lovely Kate Spade deep red patent peep-toes, and a little cloud of the fabulous classic Diorella, by Dior (of course).

Day 354 - Ferragamo

Purchased from Bloomingdale's Chicago some years ago, these sensible but stylish walking shoes by Florentine shoe house Salvatore Ferragamo are enjoying a pre-Christmas drink with friends, accompanied by Acqua di Parma Colonia. Very Italian.

Day 353 - Chaneling Christmas

These superb two-tone Chanel Mary Janes in black and burnt toast (my name for the colour) are pictured today amongst Christmas stuff channeling the season with a spray or three of Heure Exquise by Annick Goutal, a very lovely warm/green iris-infused scent.

Day 352 - Black satin

Black satin Vera Wang slingbacks pictured this evening in a bowl of party corks, very appropriate to the season. They are worn with Chanel's beautiful 31 Rue Cambon.

Day 351 - Summer Scholltice

Well, not quite the summer solstice...we're still a few days away here in the southern hemisphere...but I got in early with these fab silver Dr Scholls with hand-painted wooden bases and couldn't resist the play on words. Aren't they cute? They are partnered with Frederic Malle's Angeliques sous la pluie.

Day 350 - Handbag

Tonight, Kittie was a 'handbag'...yes, that's right...she was delighted to be asked to stand in for someone even more special (amazing thought)... at one of Melbourne's great Christmas parties. This one was thrown by event organiser suprema, Valentina, and was a beauty. These glittering party shoes with gold heels are by Pedro Garcia and are partnered with Chanel's Coco parfum. A good time was had by all...including the handbag.

Day 349 - Hedging

Kittie doing a spot of combat gardening, trimming hedges in this bright and cheery pair of Emilio Pucci slides. They are paired with Creed's Royal Water.

Day 348 - It's beginning to feel a bit like Christmas

Sergio Rossi pumps with silver detail checking out the Christmas decorations this evening. They are paired with Jubilation 25 by Amouage, a really fabulous chypre with a lot of class and staying power - one of my favourites.

Day 347 - Corked

Chanel cork drinking sandals, last seen late in January, are pictured at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne enjoying a martini or three this evening, accompanied by Chanel's Bel Respiro.

Day 346 - Bronzed Goddess

Well, not blowing my own trumpet here, but these glorious Vera Wang heels in bronze do really deserve the description. They are paired with a great Estee Lauder scent from a few years ago, Azuree Soleil.

Day 345 - St Jude's

St Jude is the patron saint of lost causes, and St Jude's is a good place for brunch on Melbourne's Brunswick Street. These white patent Manolo Blahnik sandals are pictured this morning resting on a box of Ranga beer at the aforementioned establishment, accompanied by a dab or three of Jean Patou's classic from the 1930s, Normandie (the 1980s reissue).

Day 344 - Beauty call

Vera Wang Simply Vera for Kohl's grey crushed velvet slides with bling pictured today amongst Christmas decorations at the beauty parlour...with Shanghai Tang Mandarin Tea.

Day 343 - Friday night at the movies

Grey Manolo Blahnik mules after the movies tonight, paired with Hermes' Un Jardin sur le Nil.

Day 342 - Self Preservation

Jimmy Choo slingbacks, exhausted (yes, we've seen them before) at Self Preservation this evening, accompanied by the yummy Frederic Malle Bigararde Concentree...

Day 341 - Mmmmmmm

Mmmmm. For Manolo. Blahnik. These superb reptile-trimmed beige pumps are just divine, perfect in every way...as is the accompanying fragrance, L'Artisan Parfumeur's Iris Pallida.

Day 340 - Aerial

Cheery Marc Jacobs yellow and navy patent slingbacks with gold trim posed today against Melbourne's Parliament House. They are accompanied by the new Bottega Veneta EDP.

Day 339 - Flora

These whimsical Prada slingbacks were last seen on the first day of Spring...it's now summer, not that you'd know it. Don't you love the patent leather pansies? They are accompanied by a blast of 3 Fleurs by Parfum d'Empire.

Day 338 - Gardening

Sarra Lienne gardening clogs from France in the garden today doing some long-overdue maintenance. They are accompanied by Chanel's Gardenia.

Day 337 - Colourful

LK Bennetts crying into a beer/wine or three this evening, at the Fad bar/gallery in Chinatown, draped in a spray of YSL's Rive Gauche. Why so sad? One of our very, very special favourite guys is leaving us...prompting some rounds of that classic Mental as Anything song from the early 80s, 'If you leave me, can I come too?'

Manolo, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...time to refresh with another airing of the shoemeister. These are his all-time classic Carolynes in navy blue, with the trademark flared heels. Superb engineering. They are pictured with friends in their cool Flinders Lane apartment this evening, accompanied by the sublime (and compliment-inducing) Bigarade Concentree by Frederic Malle. I love navy...could we please bring it back?!

Day 320 - Psychedelic

On a warm and lovely Melbourne day following a touch-up to the claws, Ann Taylor thongs (Australian) -  also known as flip flops (American) -  pictured post-pedicure today with the remnants of a heavy spray of Frederic Malle's divine Carnal Flower. The nail varnish is Chanel's Rose Insolent.

Day 318 - Keegan

Outside Florentino this afternoon, these fabulous Kate Spade ponyskin dotty sandals with sliver heels - the style is Keegan - were snapped in a light cloud of Chanel's Bel Respiro.
