Day 212 - Poetry in motion

Attending an entertaining dinner party featuring poetry on the run - in this instance, featuring the clerihew, a sort-of-limerick - Kittie is wearing a pair of gold Ferragamo sandals against a stunning red sofa and a hefty spritz of Guerlain's Attrape-Coeur.

Day 211 - Portrait of a lady

A pair of classic Manolo Blahnik Carolyne slingbacks in black pictured being very ladylike late this evening at a dinner party, accompanied by the heavenly Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle.

Day 210 - Redux

Striking cherry red pumps with black curved heels by Prada out on the tiles this evening, partnered with Serge Lutens' leathery apricot fragrance Daim Blond.

Day 209 - Book launch

Kittie at a book launch in Albert Park this evening, wearing divine Manolo Blahnik slingbacks and Robert Piguet's Fracas.

Day 208 - Bootylicious

Beautiful Jimmy Choo ankle boots at the Cellar Bar this evening, worn with Serge Lutens' Cedre.

Day 207 - Table service

Charming - and much admired - Jane Brown Mary Janes in two-toned suede kicking up their heels over some chopsticks in one of Kittie's favourite Chinese restaurants late today, partnered with Ormonde Jayne's floral triumph Sampaquita. The heels are beautiful, it's an English label, and they're made in Italy (of course!)

Day 206 - Il gattopardo

Kittie is re-reading the classic novel about decaying Sicilian nobility Il gattopardo (The Leopard) by Giuseppe di Lampedusa, and suitably inspired, is posed in leopard-print slingbacks with deep brown patent trim by leopard-loving designers Dolce & Gabbana, posed on an H&M leopard-print umbrella on this windswept and drizzly winter's day. (One half of the D&G partnership, Signor Dolce, is Sicilian-born). Worn with a spritz of Amouage Jubilation 25.

Day 205 - Combat flats

OK, it's Sunday, I'm off-duty, so go easy on me. Attending to some beauty maintenance today (no smart comments, thanks), I'm pictured in a pair of Lanvin leather and satin flats, and a dab or two of Ambre et Diamant Noir by Ambregris.

Day 204 - Ranga shoes

Redheads have been big in the news lately, with lots of coverage of ex-News Corp's Rebekah Brooks' spectacular mane. Australia is blessed with a redhead as Prime Minister - a member of the "ranga" tribe, as it's known locally, short for "orangutan", a red-haired primate from the jungles of Asia. These charming satin sandals by Nine West are channeling the ranga vibe in a lovely shade of orangutan against a red background, worn with the fabulous Ananas Fizz from L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 203 - Magenta

Magnificent Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes in patent magenta (style is Mladari) on the mosaic floor at drinking establishment Rosati, accompanied by Caron's Nuit de Noel, an appropriate fragrance for mid-winter.

Day 202 - Shoes with attitude

These Sergio Rossi slingbacks have been seen before in Kittie's travels, but are always worth a twirl. Featuring delicate tan leather trim, they are a tribute to good shoe design and are comfortable, as well as good-looking. They are worn with Mandarine by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 201 - Zippy

Cute Sergio Rossi beige suede pointy pumps with black heels and silver ring-pull detail, putting themselves up on a stool after a hard day down the mine. They are worn with the lovely Amouage Lyric Woman.

Day 200 - Down in the dumpster

How the mighty have fallen! Heavenly Christian Louboutin honey-coloured Mary Janes with delicate stiletto heels are posed against a yellow dumpster in a Melbourne laneway, accompanied by Wolford fishnets and Hermes' Jardin sur le Nil. These really are very beautiful shoes. Timeless.

Day 199 - Horsebit

Louche black patent and lacquer slides by Gucci featuring the famous house horsebit - in silver - relaxing today, paired with a spritz of that great end-of-millennium fragrance Rush...which is, of course, by Gucci. A perfect match.

Day 198 - Gold, gold, gold

Gold Olivia Morris sandals pictured earlier today, accompanied by Mandarine by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 197 - The elephant in the room

After a very enjoyable evening cocktrailing around the delightful micro-burb of West Melbourne, Kittie is encountering the legendary elephant in the room in a pair of Jimmy Choo slingbacks with reptile trim. This particular elephant hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan, and is part of a menagerie accumulated by my dear friend Barri Gottic, a former resident of Barcelona. The fuchsia tights are from Urban Outfitters, and the fragrance is L'Artisan Parfumeur's Timbuktu.

Day 196 - Friday on my mind

Friday. Ann Taylor slingbacks in black mock croc are preparing for the weekend, veiled in a light cloud of Halston (the original version from the '70s). Love that Easybeats classic too!

Day 195 - Ladies' lounge

Deep brown Loula pumps on rather vibrant pub carpet in rural Victoria on a chilly evening.  Pictured in the ladies' lounge of the local pub, they are paired with Premier Figuier Extreme by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 194 - Happy boots

Cheerful Pucci rainboots that would brighten any dull day, fossicking around in the country. They are worn with Eau de l'Artisan, by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 193 - World weary

Perfect shoes for challenging times. No-name retro pumps with silk velvet bows from Italy heaving a deep sigh at the end of the working day, paired with the comforting fragrance Cedre, by Serge Lutens.

Day 192 - Black satin

Classic black satin slingbacks by Vera Wang, accompanied by L'Artisan Parfumeur's beautiful Iris Pallida.

Day 191 - Double bass and dog

Cute. The dog wanted to get in on the shot, so how could Kittie refuse? Her footwear (paw-wear?) is also rather fabulous. In a Maynard G Krebs mood, Kittie is wearing a pair of gold ballet-style flats from Midas up against a very nice double bass, accompanied by Estee Lauder's Youth Dew Amber Nude.

Day 190 - Animal magnetism

Grrrrrr.. tributes to the animal world from the shoemeister: a great pair of Manolo Blahnik mules in animal-inspired silk, and gold heels, on a very beautiful rug that originally had something to do with camels (Kittie has forgotten the details). Worn with a fragrance big on animal magnetism, a rich chypre, Amouage Jubilation 25.

Day 189 - Swirly

Glam sequinned mules by Casadei in swirled shades of copper, silver, gold and tan resting up this Friday evening, accompanied by the delicious Dzonghka by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 188 - Chocolate brown

Manolo Blahnik classic pumps in chocolate brown trying to keep warm in a friendly cloud of Borneo 1834 by Serge Lutens, which is a big interesting patchouli fragrance with a chocolate note.

Day 187 - And another thing

Beautiful and very hard-working Christian Louboutin slingbacks pictured early this afternoon on what is possibly the world's worst carpet, accompanied by 31 Rue Cambon by Chanel.

Day 186 - Spanish shoes

These Adolpho Dominguez spotty fabric shoes are fit for a flamenco session or two. Purchased during a delightful holiday in Spain some years ago, they are posed in a Melbourne laneway, enhanced with some Wolfords fishnets and a spritz or two of Chanel's No 5 Eau Premiere.

Day 185 - Fourth of July

Very special star-spangled shoes that just beg to be worn on this particular day, toasting our American friends at Comme. They are by Parisian shoemaker Rodolphe Menudier, and are worn with another Parisian import, Parfums de Nicolai's New York (of course!)

Day 184 - Leafy

Black suede knotted sandals by Prada frolicking in a leafy setting after a lovely evening with a dear friend who loves gardens. They are worn with L'Artisan Parfumeur's charming cologne Mandarine.

Day 183 - Lounge lizards

Classic, fabulous, beige Bruno Magli lizard slingback peeptoes lounging and warming themselves up on a crispish Melbourne day, accompanied by L'Artisan Parfumeur's Ananas Fizz, a different type of crisp.

Day 182 - Brunswick Street

Burgundy patent flats by Loeffler Randall for Target (US) from some years back on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, worn with Parfums de Nicolai's New York.
