Day 120 - Ballet flats

Saturday.  Bloch ballet flats in patent 'ballet pink', worn with the delightful Hermes cologne Osmanthe Yunnan.

Day 119 - Wedding shoes

Along with two billion others, Kittie was watching the Royal wedding this evening.  She decided to honour the occasion with an appropriately festive pair of shoes, these being Olivia Morris rose gold pumps.  They were part of a heavenly pairing with Frederic Malle's Carnal Flower.

Day 118 - Trashed

I blame my stylist for this shot.   To call him a stylist is flattery, of course.  Kittie's Manolo Blahnik black leather slides with off-white stitching are posed in a pile of...well...trash (!!), off Little Bourke Street.   They are partnered with an old fave, Amouage Jubilation 25.

Day 117 - Snakey

Grabbing a quick apres-work drink at the usual (Self Preservation) are these luscious Jimmy Choo black slingbacks with snakeskin and gold buckle trim.  They are worn with the most heavenly new fragrance from Frapin, 1697.  Kittie's fellow imbibers, unprompted, noted the beautiful scent at approximately 6pm - it was sprayed nearly 12 hours before, yet is remarkably unobtrusive.  Like other Frapin fragrances, it is inspired in some way by the scent of cognac (the other family business).  The name represents a significant year in the marque's history.  This latest is the creation of one of Kittie's favourite perfumers, Bertrand Duchaufour.  Bravo!

Day 116 - Espadrilleana

These fabulous, if somewhat war-worn, canvas espadrilles stand proud at L'Enoteca in Gertrude Street.  They were purchased some years ago at the supreme espadrille shrine, La Manual Alpargatera, in Barcelona.  "Celebrity" clients of the boutique include, apparently, Salvador Dali, Michael Douglas, and....the Pope!!!   They are worn, maybe inappropriately, with Balmain's old classic Ivoire.

Day 115 - At the park

Frivolous Emilio Pucci satin pumps with ridiculously high heels adorned with silver spines (not quite visible in this shot) playing at the park*.  They are worn with L'Artisan Parfumeur's Fou d'Absinthe.  (*Blogging purposes only.  Please don't try this in real life.  Someone - or even worse, the shoes - might get hurt).

Day 114 - Bossy

Boss by Hugo Boss slides in orange, brown, tan leather and neutral canvas, with brown leather heels.  Worn with Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil - fabulous!

Day 113 - Black flats at brunch

Black suede Manolo Blahnik flats with cute bow detail after brunch on Brunswick Street, worn with the no longer produced Theorema by Fendi.

Day 112 - Nature lovers

Brown Prada slides with silver detail out exploring, wearing L'Eau de l'Eau by Diptique.

Day 111 - Roaming the prairies

Heels by Les Prairies de Paris bought at Barneys New York, out on the street just before the long Easter weekend.  They're partnered with Guerlain's lovely Cologne du Parfumeur, Thierry Wasser 2010.

Day 110 - Medusa

Glam Manolo Blahnik suede two-tone heels in black and maroon, pictured kicking up in the Versace Room at The Society restaurant in Melbourne.  They are worn with Ormonde Jayne's Sampaquita.

Day 109 - Brown study

Suede Mary Jane T-bars by Midas posed in a brown mood, worn with fine fishnets and a spritz of Frapin's 1270 (I know, I've been wearing it a lot, but it's just perfect for days like these).

Day 108 - Spectators

Spectator pumps by Sergio Rossi in chocolate and beige.  They are worn with Serge Lutens' Cedre.

Day 107 - Marni

Very assertive patent heels from Marni at lunch in Toorak, wearing (again) Frederic Malle's Carnal Flower - what else, with these shoes?  (Do you like them?)

Day 106 - Gucci

Brunching on Brunswick Street this morning, these Gucci slides with the house's signature horse-bit trim (in this case in silver) and black lacquer bases were teamed with Frederic Malle's Carnal Flower.

Day 105 - Dr Zhivago

Wow!  Kate Spade navy blue velvet peeptoes with sequinned bow trim at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne for the opening night of Dr Zhivago, the musical.  Certainly a torrid tale!  Accompanied by Ormonde Jayne Frangipani.

Day 104 - Manolo magic

These breathtakingly beautiful Manolos are pictured in the bar of a leading hotel accompanying their owner, who is sipping champagne.  They are made of a lovely woven raffia-type material with anemone-like beaded decoration in a deep claret colour, and are worn with Ormonde Jayne's Ormonde Woman.

Day 103 - Cheery

Striking Prada pumps in a lovely lacquer red with black heels are perfect for grey days like today, especially when accompanied by an uplifting fragrance like Tolu by London perfume house Ormonde Jayne.

Day 102 - Patented

Beautiful almost-vintage (possibly late 1980s) Charles Jourdan black patent pumps at the beautician's on a very, very wet day in Melbourne.  Worn - again, I know - with Frapin's yummy 1270, the fragrance inspired by cognac.

Day 101 - Memories of Barcelona

Sweet burgundy suede pumps with ruched vamps by Spanish cobbler Paco Gil adorned with outsize ruby 'jewels'.  They are worn on a chilly day with L'Artisan Parfumeur's Timbuktu.

Day 100 - Class on the grass

 

A special day (the one-hundredth day of the year, and of my shoes!) so here are some special heels to celebrate it.  Lovely red suede sandals by Manolo Blahnik (of course).  I admit this was one 'prepared earlier' as celebrity chefs like to say:  the weather in Melbourne today was far too hideous to permit such lovely specimens outdoors.  Check out the bird in the background.  They were worn with Chanel's Eau de Cologne from Les Exclusifs.

Day 99 - Oscar night

Elegant deep gold sandals by Oscar de la Renta on the red carpet, having a quiet night in with a friend.  Worn with a big one from the 1980s, Paloma Picasso EDP.

Day 98 - Periwinkle

Periwinkle blue ballet flats - my walking shoes - by Bloch of Melbourne, putting their feet up on Friday night at the usual venue.  These shoes do miles/km every day - and they need to be acknowledged.  Bravissime!  They are accompanied by the delicious Orris Noir by Ormonde Jayne.

Day 97 - Ring pulls

Beige suede Sergio Rossi pumps with cute zip detail having a quick Mexican meal, accompanied by Bel Respiro by Chanel from Les Exclusifs.

Day 96 - Zapatos

Ay carumba!  Pictured on a lovely late autumn afternoon consorting with some delightful Mexicans were these Manolo Blahnik shell pink pumps, partnered with the 1930s fragrance by Jean Patou, Cocktail (the 1980s Ma Collection reissued version). 

Day 95 - Mad men (and women)

Marc Jacobs slingbacks on a mission in officeland to cheer up oppressed/depressed office workers - you can see what they are:  black patent leather retro (ie 60s-style) shoes with big gold detail on both heels.  A brilliant touch, Marc - and also on the uppers.  Fabbo!  Worn with Serge Lutens' Cedre.

Day 94 - Shoe power

Sergio Rossi black leather pumps with white stitching and silver detail, worn with Ormonde Jayne Zizan.  I've had these shoes for quite a few years and despite the height of the heels, they are very comfortable.  Good for channeling some shoe power in the work environment.  How could you argue with a woman wearing these shoes?

Day 93 - French Sole

These richly toned red suede flats were purchased at French Sole in Manhattan one very hot day when I was desperate for some walking shoes.  They are made in Spain, and pictured relaxing in the garden after a hard day's work around the house.  They are paired with the eerily beautiful Ormonde Woman by Ormonde Jayne.

Day 92 - Hanging in there

Today, these lovely Prada satin mules in shades of pink, cream, black and brown are hanging around.  Continuing the experimentation with the Ormonde Jayne range, they are accompanied by a few spritzes of the house's velvety Frangipani.

Day 91 - Autumn leaves

There's a leaf theme today.  Autumn leaves are falling in Melbourne after the coolest March for 14 years.  So these charming glossy black Prada mules have some leaf foliage trim - and yes, you've seen them before, but I felt like wearing them today.  They are teamed with Frapin & Cie's cognac-inspired 1270 - very rich and...well...autumnal.  They are munching lunch with a very dear friend at Ca' de Vin, whom I suspect is growing tired of snapping my shoes!

But there's more:  another pair of guest shoes worn by a very well-travelled gentleman with (keep it to yourselves) an aristocratic pedigree!  I'm informed they are hand-stitched (no doubt by blind nuns) Italian soft suede chocolate brown loafers with silver buckle trim.  The brand is MoMa.  The venue is our favourite spot for quick toast on Friday night, Self Preservation - of course.  The leaves were not contrived, in case you were wondering.
