On a rainy AFL Grand Final eve (the beginning of a quasi-religious festival in Melbourne), these sassy Jimmy Choo slingbacks with reptile trim are pictured in Little Bourke Street, paired with the smoky Infini by Caron.

Day 272 - Jungle shoes

Kate Spade choc patent 70s style block-heeled pumps with animal touches posed on an animal-print umbrella from H&M on a rainy day in Melbourne, one of many. They are accompanied today with the sophisticated classic from Caron, Narcisse Noir.

Day 271 - Stormy weather

These deep red patent Kate Spade peeptoes are pictured this evening in what could be the Starship Enterprise, but isn't. What appear to be stars are actually raindrops lashing the windows in a very wild storm which drenched the city late today. They are paired with Chanel's Gardenia.

Day 270 - Honest coffee

Day 264 - Purple/crimson

I'm sure the Italian shoemakers/designers at Sergio Rossi were inspired by papal robes to come up with these shoes in the richest purple and crimson. Not red, crimson. Soooo Italian. These really lovely attention-grabbing shoes are pictured this evening worn with my go-to instant dose of self confidence, Amouage Jubilation 25.

Day 263 - Holding the pickle

The epitome of elegant Manolo Blahnik slides, pictured this evening at the opening of the incredibly moving show by the talented Rachel Berger, Hold the Pickle, about her family surviving the Holocaust and building a new life first in Israel, and then in St Kilda (almost a country within Australia), but so much more. They are worn with Frederic Malle's Portrait of a Lady.

Day 262 - Gertrude Street Enoteca

Charming pinky-taupe Prada mules with delicate black leather contrast pictured lunching today at the Gertrude Street Enoteca with an old friend visiting from the US. They are worn on this beautiful spring day with the light and cheerful Ananas Fizz by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Day 260 - Blossom

Charles David gold slides enjoying Melbourne's warm spring weather today on a fall of blossoms, accompanied by the transcendent Tiare by Ormonde Jayne.

Day 259 - Class act

Beautiful woven pumps by the Meister, Manolo Blahnik, in a type of sisal fabric, with wood stack heels. They are at Melbourne's Grand Hyatt this evening with the immortal Chanel No 19 (vintage parfum).

Day 258 - Contagious

Kittie goes viral with these Sergio Rossi slings posed on the latest edition of Contagious, accompanied by the patchouli-laden, dry, assertive and delicious fragrance by Chanel from Les Exclusifs collection, Coromandel.

Day 257 - Cardboard

Multi-textured mules by Prada, accented with black patent, are pictured today where they are accompanied by Caron's Tubereuse, which attracted compliments. Very appropriate for Spring.

Day 256 - Looking grate

These glamorous Christian Louboutin mesh slingbacks, the colour of burnt toast, are pictured today in a laneway off Little Bourke Street in a small cloud of Hermes' Un Jardin sur le Nil.

Day 255 - Mary Jane, Mary Jane

Kittie, constantly on the quest for the perfect Mary Jane, would like to introduce you to her latest...a pair of mock croc L K Bennett heels, made in Spain (where the rain falls mainly on the plain). I love the proportions of these shoes, and they are - most importantly - extremely comfortable. They are worn with the golden serum I choose when I need an extra dose of confidence...the immortal Amouage Jubilation 25.

Christian Louboutin pumps pictured this afternoon at an art and canape soiree, accompanied by Frapin's Caravelle Epicee. The hospitality was courtesy of Melbourne's Egg Unlimited. Here's a sample:

Day 253 - Republican

Simple but elegant Italian-made sandals from Banana Republic are being worn here with Jean Patou's Sira des Indes.

Day 252 - The perfect shoe - pure Chanel

May I say, these are the most sublime shoes in my whole collection? They are vintage Chanel, made of the softest leather (I think the beige bit is lambskin, like the famous Caviar handbags), and were purchased on eBay some years ago for around US$80. They had (probably) never been worn, were picked up by someone at a Hollywood yard sale, and sold for a song. They are bliss to wear, and I will love them forever. They are accompanied this evening, at another great runway show during Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, by Chanel's Bel Respiro.

Oh, but there's more...a guest shoe. I would like to show you a magnificent pair worn by a charming young man, Clayton, whom I encountered at the end of tonight's show. He said they were "just cheap" when I asked the brand, but I think you'll agree they're pretty amazing...!

Day 251 - Workshopping Blahnik

These lovely magenta Manolo Blahnik patent heels are pictured in a pod in inner Melbourne this evening reflecting on the day, comforted by a long-lasting blast of Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle. Watch this pod.

Day 250 - Hai!

Pictured outside solid gold Japanese eating temple Kenzan in downtown Melbourne, these blissful Rene Caovilla heels are enhanced by a few pumps of Tom Ford's Japon Noir. Although the fragrance match sounds contrived I confess I didn't start the day thinking I would be eating Japanese! Now, back to the shoes. They are the softest, peachiest camel-shaded leather with a slight quasi-metallic sheen. How do those clever Venetian cobblers do it, I wonder? Maybe I should stop wondering, and just enjoy.

Day 249 - Black and white

Manolo Blahnik suede flats cavorting at the Melbourne Town Hall during Spring Fashion Week, enhanced with the immortal Tabac Blond by Caron. Perfect.

Day 248 - Dreaming

Kittie was feeling a tad poorly today, but perked up in a pair of soft Spanish leather mules purchased in Barcelona, which are posed against a work by Aboriginal artist Alice Nampijinpa, worn with Diptique's L'Eau de l'Eau.

Day 247 - The Lady of the Camellias

Of course, La Traviata would be supine on a sofa coughing delicately into a hankie, but Kittie is on her feet this evening with some lovely girly silk and satin sandals by Melbourne designer Alannah Hill, posed against some...camellias. They are worn with the fabulous legendary fragrance, Arpege EDP by Lanvin - which apparently (I didn't know until now) has a camellia note.

Day 246 - Bejewelled

Well-loved Prada pink crushed silk velvet sandals with bling detail are pictured tonight with Kittie's fabulous new parfum, Tubereuse by Caron.  Below is a pic of the lovely Kevin at Myer Melbourne decanting the fragrance from urn to bottle earlier in the day. Heavenly!

Day 245 - Launch - Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

 

It's spring and the City of Melbourne is launching its Spring Fashion Week. Kittie is there in a pair of truly beautiful Manolo Blahnik pink heels, partnered with the sublime Tubereuse by Caron (parfum). How more springy can you be???!

Day 244 - Spring

A springy pair of Prada slingbacks with black patent leather detail...and leather flowers...pictured on the first day of the Australian spring, accompanied by the lovely 3 Fleurs by Parfum d'Empire, which scored compliments today. Very subtle on the skin after the first spray, but a very cheerful, extroverted floral, and I love it!
